When a session makes sense

Every layoff is different. These are the situations where a session helps most.

You have just been told you are being let go and need to respond within days.

We work out what to sign and what not to sign yet, what to ask, and how to approach the exit conversation before the negotiation window closes.

You have already left and have spent weeks sending out CVs with no reply.

We review your CV and your positioning with the eye of someone who has hired teams, not with templates. Usually the problem is not the format, it is the angle.

You have interviews lined up and want to arrive prepared.

We prepare the difficult answers, including the one about the layoff, and rehearse the compensation conversation so you do not improvise it.

You have an offer on the table and are unsure whether to accept it.

We look at the whole offer, not just the salary, and define what to ask for, how to ask for it and what your real alternative is if they say no.

What we work on

The session focuses on one or two of these areas. You choose which when you email me.

CV and positioning

How to tell your story and your exit in a way that opens doors. What to highlight, what to cut, and how to explain the layoff without apologising for it.

Interviews

Real preparation for the questions you will be asked, rehearsing the awkward ones. Arriving prepared shows in the first five minutes.

Job-search strategy

Where to spend your time and where not to. A concrete search plan for the coming weeks, adapted to your sector and your urgency.

Negotiation

On the way out or on the way in. How much real room you have, with which arguments and in which order. The same logic as the calculator, applied to your case.

What it is and what it is not

Better to say it before you write to me.

What it is

  • A working session on your specific case, prepared before we start.
  • Real experience: I have hired, I have let people go, and I negotiated my own exit above the legal minimum.
  • A written plan you take away at the end, with concrete steps.
  • An honest conversation. If I do not see it, I tell you.

What it is not

  • A course, a mentoring programme or a months-long engagement.
  • Legal or tax advice. That is what employment lawyers are for.
  • Motivation or pep talks. You leave with work done, not with energy.
  • A promise of results. No honest person can promise you that.

Who you will be working with

I have spent more than ten years leading sales teams at technology companies, across international markets and several countries. I have hired dozens of people, read thousands of CVs and negotiated offers from both sides of the table: making them and receiving them.

When I was laid off myself, I negotiated my exit well above the legal minimum. golayoff came out of that experience: first the calculator, then the guides, and now this. Everything we work on in the session I have lived, not read in a book.

No photo, no inflated bio. If you want to know more before deciding, ask me whatever you need by email.

How it works

1
You write me an email describing your situation

Two paragraphs are enough. What happened, where you stand and what you want to work on. I reply within 24 working hours.

2
We confirm it makes sense and set a date

If I think the session will not help you, I tell you and there is no session. If it makes sense, we agree on a day, a time and the payment.

3
90-minute session and a written plan

I come with your case prepared. When we finish you get a summary of what we agreed and the next steps, so you do not have to rely on your memory.

No forms and no sign-up. The site stores none of your data: everything goes through email, between you and me.

Tell me your situation

An email is enough to start. Writing commits you to nothing.
